How do I scan a product?
Tap the "Scan" button at the bottom center of the screen. You can either:

Camera: Scan the product's barcode for instant identification.

Gallery: Upload a photo of the product label or ingredient list.
The AI will recognize the product and display ingredient analysis, compatibility
score, and detailed information.
Why isn't the barcode scanner working properly?
For best scanning results:

Good Lighting: Use bright, even lighting. Avoid glare or
shadows on the barcode.

Steady Hold: Hold your phone steady and ensure the barcode
fills most of the camera frame.

Clean Lens: Make sure your camera lens is clean and clear.

Focus: Wait a moment for the camera to focus before scanning.

Alternative: If scanning fails, try taking a photo from the
gallery or manually searching for the product.
What is the compatibility score?
The compatibility score (displayed as a percentage) indicates how well a
product matches your skin profile based on:
- Your skin type (oily, dry, combination, sensitive)
- Your skin concerns (acne, wrinkles, dark spots, etc.)
- Ingredient safety and benefits for your profile
- Potential irritants or allergens
Higher scores (70%+) indicate better compatibility. Lower scores suggest
the product may not be ideal for your specific needs.
How do I update my skin profile?
Go to Settings → Skin Profile. Update your:
- Skin type
- Primary concerns
- Allergies or sensitivities
- Preferred ingredients
- Ingredients to avoid
Keeping your profile accurate ensures you get the most relevant compatibility
scores and recommendations.
What does the skin analysis feature do?
The skin analysis uses AI to evaluate your skin from selfies. It measures:
- Hydration: Moisture levels and dryness
- Texture: Smoothness and skin surface quality
- Radiance: Skin brightness and glow
- Acne: Breakout severity and inflammation
- Pores: Pore visibility and size
- Wrinkles: Fine lines and aging signs
This helps personalize product recommendations and track improvements over time.

Can I trust the product information?
Oskyn aggregates data from multiple reliable sources including manufacturer
databases, public ingredient databases, and verified user submissions. However:
- Product formulations can change over time
- Always verify ingredients on the actual product packaging
- If you have severe allergies, consult the product directly
- Our compatibility scores are educational, not medical advice
If you notice incorrect information, please report it through the app so
we can update our database.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes, you need an internet connection for:
- Scanning products and retrieving information
- AI skin analysis
- Using the AI Beauty Coach
- Syncing your data across devices
Previously scanned products are cached locally, so you can view them offline.
Technical Support
The app is running slowly or crashing
- Close other apps running in the background.
- Ensure you have the latest version of Oskyn from the App Store.
- Check that you have adequate storage space on your device.
- Restart the app or your device if issues persist.
- Try clearing the app cache in Settings → Clear Cache.
How do I delete my scan history?
Go to "Scan History" and find the product you want to remove. Swipe left
on it and tap "Delete." You can also tap on the scan to view details and
use the delete option from there. To delete all history at once, go to
Settings → Clear Scan History.
My skin analysis results seem inaccurate
For best skin analysis results:
- Use natural daylight or bright, even lighting
- Remove makeup and ensure your face is clean
- Face the camera directly with your entire face visible
- Avoid filters, beauty modes, or camera effects
- Take photos from the same position for consistent tracking
- Use the front-facing camera for best results
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through your App Store or Google Play account:

→ Cancel Subscription

Cancel Subscription
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
How do I delete my account and data?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This will permanently delete
all your data including photos, scan history, and skin analysis. Alternatively,
email us at mallik.puranjan@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion
Request" and we'll process your request within 48 hours.
